A is for April Adventures

April has brought our family lots of new and exciting adventures. Cam is amazing us in developing her pre-reading skills. She asks what words start with and we sound out the letter and about 50% of the time she gets it. She's really good with letters like D, T, S, B, G, Z, P, R, M and of course C. She had her three year old check up the other day and the doc said she was in the 97th percentile for her height & 90th for weight. In other words she was as tall as an average 4 1/2 year old. No wonder people can never guess her age correctly.

We had the family over last weekend to load in her furniture and complete her big girl room. She slept in there for the first time Monday night. She thinks it's great to have a little night stand to set her water and that she can turn her lamp on and off. Hmmm...might need to be moving that lamp temporarily. She's having a REALLY hard time going to bed at night and the doc thinks she needs to just officially give up naps.

As for me, I started a new job about a week ago. I'm still on the Maritz campus, but am working for a company with only 5 employees. Quite different and definitely a dysfunctional group, but should make for a great learning experience, and interesting stories. Think "Micheal Scott Paper Company" and you pretty much have an idea of my day to day. Not kidding.

And Craig has decided to take up hockey as his newest hobby. As with any new idea he really likes, he commits to it and doesn't slow down until he's happy with the outcome. So once he decided that he wanted to play hockey, he had sourced skates, clothing, helmet and a hockey stick in a matter of days. And he's started going to a beginners hockey class, where he says he is one of the youngest there. (I think that was a pleasant surprise for him.) The good news is he's feeling better because he's getting into shape and it appears he's found himself a hobby between football and fishing seasons.

Other than that, we're eagerly waiting for mother nature to let us enjoy springtime for good. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

Glad she is liking her big girl room. I am nervous for our switch. Cam is definitely tall, so that doesn't surprise me about her doc appt. How funny the difference b/t the cousins. We had a blast this last weekend with you all. Can't wait to get those girls together again soon, they loved playing together!
